Needs

Things have been busy in my life recently, which is why I was unable to post last week. And yet, despite being busy, I was able to see that God provided everything I needed, even the little things I didn't know about. So today, we're talking about needs.

As humans, we sometimes think that what we want and what we need are the same thing. Most of the time this isn't true, but sometimes it is. Not everything you want is something you need, and not everything you need is something you want. The hard things in life can be exactly what you need, and yet not something that you want.

The beauty in this, is that God knows what we need at all times, and He makes sure that we receive it right when we need it. Our lives are here to bring God glory through everything we do, and as that happens we are made more like Christ, through both easy things and hard things. The things we need are things that help us to become more like Christ and help us bring God more glory.

Sometimes the things you need are large: money, food, transportation, shelter. Sometimes they are small: an encouraging word, seeing a friend, hearing a song. Sometimes easy: eating, hanging out with friends. Sometimes hard: losing a loved one, making big life decisions. And yet in all of these things we can become more like Christ and bring God glory.

I've dealt with all of the above and more, and I'm sure you have too. It's not always easy following God, but He promises to provide all of your needs. Just like a gardener waters and tends his plant both in storms and calm, so too God takes care of us and provides our needs not matter where we're at in life. So follow God, trust Him, and watch how He provides!
